GhostPace Privacy Policy

GhostPace (“the app”) is a commute-tracking app made by Material Systems LLC that records your routes via GPS so you can race your own past runs. This policy explains what the app does with your data. The short version: everything stays on your device, and nothing is sent to us or anyone else.
What the app accesses
- Location (GPS). While you are recording a run, GhostPace reads your device's location to draw your route on the map, measure distance and speed, and compare your run against previously recorded runs. Recording only happens while you have an active recording in progress; you start and stop it yourself (or from a paired Apple Watch).
- Background location. With your permission, recording continues while the app is in the background or your phone is locked, so a commute isn't lost if you put your phone away. iOS displays its standard location indicator while this is happening.
What we collect
Nothing. GhostPace has no servers, no account system, and no analytics or advertising SDKs. Your routes, run history, and statistics are stored only in the app's local database on your device. We — the developer — never receive, see, or have any access to your location data or any other information.
Data sharing
We do not share, sell, or transmit your data, because we never receive it in the first place. No data leaves your device through the app.
If you use a paired Apple Watch with GhostPace, the watch and iPhone exchange recording status and live race information directly between your own devices using Apple's on-device connectivity; this data is not sent to us or any third party.
Data retention and deletion
Your data lives on your device for as long as you keep it. You can delete individual runs or entire routes from within the app at any time. Deleting the app removes all of its data from your device.
Children's privacy
GhostPace is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new “last updated” date.
